SB NOW: A sought after resource

Recently the Washington Business Journal reached out to SB NOW for our reaction to the Washington DC City Council proposal to institute a $25 per space fee for employee parking. As a 501 (c)(3) educational not-for-profit, SB NOW does not engage in lobbying. However, we did offer our philosophy that businesses can be a powerful force for social, economic and environmental change and suggested that it might be more effective to promote and encourage the desired actions; "incentives for green behavior are preferable to, shall we say, punative things." "It would be preferable for the city to structure this in a way to reward people using mass transit."
